Who we are
Hitchpost is made by June Coast, LLC. It connects trailer dealerships with the people who buy and service trailers from them: the dealership enters a trailer’s verified record, and the owner carries it in the Hitchpost app — specs, payload, service history, and a message line back to the dealership.
This policy covers the Hitchpost iOS app, the dealer web dashboard, and this website. It’s written to be read, not skimmed past.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name and phone number, and your email address if you share it. Dealer staff accounts also include a work email.
- Trailer details. VIN or serial number, brand, model, year, type, weights (GVWR and empty weight), stock and unit numbers, and purchase date — entered by your dealership.
- Service records. Service history entries and service requests: the category, dates, and any description you write.
- Messages. The text of messages between you and your dealership, and any photos you attach.
- Device and log data. An Apple push notification (APNs) token so we can send notifications to your device, plus basic technical logs (IP address, timestamps, app version) used for security and debugging.
- Demo requests. If you ask for a demo on this site, we keep the name, dealership, phone, email, and message you submit so we can call you back.
How we use it
- To run the product: show your trailer records to you and to the dealership that services them.
- To route your service requests and messages to the right staff at your dealership.
- To send push notifications you’d expect — request updates, replies, and service reminders.
- To answer support requests and to keep the service secure and working.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it — to anyone, for anything.
Who can see your information
- Your dealership. This is the point of the product: staff at the dealership you’re connected to can see your name, contact details, trailer records, service requests, and messages.
- Service providers. We use a small set of vendors to run the service — cloud hosting and database, file storage for message photos, Apple’s push notification service, and an email delivery service for staff notifications. They process data only on our instructions.
- Legal requirements. We’ll disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, and only what’s required.
Message photos
Photos attached to messages are stored for 30 days from the day they’re sent, then deleted from storage automatically. The message text itself stays in the conversation.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and personal data, email justin.mark.edelman@gmail.com from the email or phone number tied to your account. We’ll confirm it’s you and remove your personal data within 30 days.
One honest caveat: your dealership keeps its own business records of work it performed, the same way it would with a paper file. Deleting your Hitchpost account removes your data from the app; it doesn’t erase the shop’s own service ledger.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls, and reachable only by the dealership you’re connected to and the small number of people who run the service. No system is perfect, but we keep the surface small and don’t collect what we don’t need.
Children
Hitchpost is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll say so in the app before it takes effect.
